LOST IN SOCIETY
INTERVIEW BY MICHAEL WILLIAMS
STORY BY KATINA GOULAKOS
Modern Illusions, the latest album by the band Lost in Society was released today and we at Imagista had the pleasure of speaking with Zach, the lead guitarist and vocalist of the band regarding the album and L.I.S’s plans for the year.
Lost in Society consists of three talented artists, who, together manage to write songs that are at once melodic and driven. The band is perhaps most heralded for their live performances where they manage to retain all that melody , energy and raw power. Lost in Society can be described as a mix of rock and roll, grunge and punk, with incredible lyrics and even better melodies.
“Expression makes you a good musician” Zach opines when asked about his lack of effects or processors when playing guitar. Chris Cheney (The Living End) and Brian May (Queen) are his two guitar heroes who he finds inspiration from. However, for melodic stimulation Nick is inspired by Green Day, and refers to Nirvana’s simplicity to arouse his creativeness, bringing aspects of these two bands together and creating an incredible, unique sound.
Check out their new album Modern Illusions- if you love old punk and raw emotion, then you are going to fall in love with this album.
