RUMOURS OF WILLIS

INTERVIEW BY MICHAEL WILLIAMS
STORY BY KATINA GOULAKOS

From a very early age Rumer Willis loved expressing herself through performing and dance. Although her parents, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, were far from strangers to the world of show business they didn’t want their children to depend on their art or talent as a career choice. “The most important thing to them was that I finish high school” says Rumer, “they wanted to make sure I gave myself other opportunities.”

Rumer has actually never had any professional training before being approached by Dancing with the Stars. The experience was transformative for her as she put in six to seven hours of training daily of months on end in order to prepare for the show. She credits her partner Val’s commitment to dance as a big part of her inspiration; “He works so hard, season after season, and he is so ready and passionate to teach anyone that comes his way.”

Rumer, who played Roxy in Chicago does not want to be limited to one form of creative expression. She is equally passionate about singing, acting as she is about dancing and looks forward to using all three skills throughout her career. With Hello Again, a new musical film, coming out this year, she will be able to do just that.

*Stay tuned for an upcoming in-depth podcast interview with Rumer and Imagista.
